As we kick off 2025, I’m proud to reflect on another remarkable year for the New Car Dealers Foundation and its impact on the next generation of automotive professionals. In 2024, the Foundation distributed more than $50,000 in grants to students and partner schools through our CarCareerBC Education Grant program, continuing our commitment to supporting education and careers in British Columbia’s automotive sector.

The automotive industry is rapidly evolving, and ensuring we have a pipeline of skilled professionals is essential to future success. Through the CarCareerBC Education Grant program, we provide financial assistance to students pursuing automotive careers by helping to cover the costs of tuition, tools, and other expenses that might otherwise be barriers to their success. These grants represent more than just financial support, they’re an investment in the future of BC’s automotive industry.

One of the standout moments this year was seeing the diverse range of students who benefited from these grants. From aspiring technicians to future business leaders, these young talents are as passionate about cars and innovation as they are about making an impact in their communities. It’s always inspiring to hear their stories, like how a grant helped them achieve their dreams or gave them the opportunity to take that next big step in their education.

Our Foundation’s impact extends beyond individual grants, and we’re proud to partner with educational institutions across British Columbia, working hand-in-hand to enhance automotive training programs and create opportunities for students to excel. These partnerships are critical for building strong connections between education and industry, ensuring students graduate with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s competitive job market.

This year, our support reached institutions such as BCIT and Okanagan College, where investments not only benefit current students but also lay the groundwork for future generations of automotive professionals.

The automotive sector is essential to British Columbia’s economy, contributing billions annually and providing thousands of jobs. But beyond the numbers, this industry is about people — the individuals who design, build, sell, and service the vehicles that keep our province moving. Programs like CarCareerBC are vital for ensuring we have the skilled workforce needed to sustain and grow this important sector.

These achievements wouldn’t be possible without the support of BC’s new car dealers and our community partners. Their contributions, whether through donations, sponsorships, or participation in Foundation initiatives, make a tangible difference in the lives of students across the province.

As we look back and celebrate the successes of 2024, we’re also looking ahead to the future. The New Car Dealers Foundation remains committed to fostering opportunities for students, strengthening partnerships with schools, and supporting the communities that drive our industry forward.

To the students who received grants this year, congratulations. Your hard work, passion, and dedication are the reasons we do what we do. To our donors and supporters, thank you for making this possible. Together, we’re ensuring a bright future for BC’s automotive industry.
