On June 1st, the CarCareerBC Grant application process for 2024 officially opened. This initiative is a shining example of our sector’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of automotive professionals in British Columbia. The CarCareerBC Grant exists to assist aspiring workers and students en route to their careers in the automotive industry — a field brimming with innovation and opportunities. By investing in our people, we are not only helping them achieve their dreams, but also fueling the ongoing growth and innovation within our industry.

The CarCareerBC Grant supports those who are passionate about the automotive world. Whether your ambitions lie in hands-on service and repair training or acquiring a business degree, earning a marketing diploma, or pursuing any other relevant education, this grant is designed to support you in your journey to a successful career in the auto industry!

The versatility of the Grant is one of its standout features. It supports a wide range of educational and training programs. Essentially, any form of training that can lead to a career in our industry is eligible. By offering such a broad spectrum of support, we are able to address the diverse interests and career aspirations of our applicants.

The New Car Dealers Foundation of BC plays a pivotal role in the administration of these grants. Our Foundation’s Board of Directors acts as the Award Committee. Each year, we award grants ranging from $500 to $5,000. The selection process is rigorous, with the Award Committee looking for candidates who not only demonstrate a serious interest in the automotive industry but also exhibit the drive to succeed.

Eligibility is open to dedicated young (and young at heart) individuals who can claim residency in British Columbia. To qualify, applicants must have lived in the province for 12 consecutive months during the year prior to applying. This residency requirement ensures that the grant benefits students who are committed to contributing to their local automotive sector.

The application process is fairly straightforward, thanks to our partnerships with several educational institutions. If you are attending or planning to attend one of the following institutions, please contact your school’s financial aid office for details on how to apply:

– BCIT

– Coast Mountain College

– College of New Caledonia

– Automotive Business School of Canada (Georgian College)

– Okanagan College

– Vancouver Island University

The automotive industry is about more than simply vehicles; it’s about technology, innovation, customer service, and building a sustainable future in British Columbia. By supporting students, we are investing in the leaders of tomorrow who will drive this industry forward. I encourage all eligible students to take advantage of this opportunity and apply for the CarCareerBC Grant. Together, we can shape a brighter future for the automotive sector in British Columbia.
